Overpriced. These games are ancient and most of them don't offer much gameplay at all. Plus it cost atari essentially nothing to put this app out. If they made it $0.99 for the hundred pack then it'd be no-brainer, we'd buy it just for the nostalgia alone. I could conceivably see paying up to $4.99 for the hundred pack for the very small handful of games that are actually worth playing. But $14.99 for these junky games? No way.
p.s., I'm not saying all old games are bad, quite the contrary, there are a lot of fantastic old games that still hold up well, but the atari era of games were especially crappy.

The difference is physical media, no DRM, and using a portable with REAL BUTTONS (;)) - but that's a whole other discussion... :eek:
Hopefully, it'll be on sale for $9.99 (about 10 cents/game)

I have found a fun site for those of us that like some of the old time radio programs. http://radiolovers.com/ There is a bunch of stuff there in MP3 ctrl click lets you down load it On the left there is a link for all shows I found this to be a faster way to find what I wanted. Hope that some of you out there have fun with it

The iPhone 4 is now 10 months old, that's getting a bit long in the tooth in the ever evolving tech world. :)
Agreed + the fact that this model was not released with the original phone; so it was going to suffer.
The real comparison would be the white iPhone 4 + the black iPhone 4 after April to iPhone 3GS when the iPhone4 came out.

From the Transformers 2 Blu Ray, watch the documentaries when Bay is visiting his editors, 4 editors cutting separately, they all had Mac setups with FCP running.
So now I wonder if they used both FCP and Avid. And the quote from the editor is stupid on that link "I don't know anyone doing 200mil movies and not cutting them on media composer". Benjamin Button was cut on FCP and it's a 200mil movie.

They wouldn't use both - if they were using MC, the only other app they might export to would be Scratch.

That's nice, but I'm still waiting for more storage.
To clarify, I have .Mac and love the features, I just think for $100/yr, Apple is being a little chintzy with storage (after all, Google offers 2 GB for free and AOL offers unlimited space for free).
I dropped .mac two years ago because it was completely unreliable. Apple has decided to focus on eye candy rather than improving the service. I'm amazed that they can't do both.
I now use roundecube installed at dreamhost and I'm very happy. For the same price as .mac, I get 20gb of storage, unlimited domain hosting, a yearly free renewal of my domain name, 675 email addresses etc etc...and while it's not as integrated as .mac, it gives me much much more useful features. Above all, except for a week of iffy service, it's been rock solid.
For those who want something really nice looking, check out roundcube webmail

Its funny how Apple is suing for specific design and UI infringements, but Samsung seems to be countersuing for generic items that could possibly not be invented by them.
They are countering with software implementations to hardware, but they don't own the OS so how is Apple use of internal API's, coding, etc. impeding on Samsung's patents?:confused:

I like both companies personally. My electronics are split between Apple and Samsung and all of my appliances are Samsung. Sammy is definitely knocking of Apple though. I thought so ever since I saw their portable computer line that looks just like MacBook Pros.:cool:

The first Avid came out in 1989 on a Mac IIx. Most people up until a couple of years ago where still editing with Avid Xpress/Film Composer on Power Macintosh 9600's and G3/G4 machines because they cut and cut really well. You used to not be able to separate the word Apple from Avid until they started being bad about working with other developers over the span of OS X. I.E. Avid, Adobe & Macromedia. And developing competing products. You've seen what Steve can do with a product like flash and ban it from an OS. So Adobe and Avid started not putting all their eggs in one basket and that's why you started seeing alot of software on apple's migrate to PC's because of Apple's behavior for better or worse.
IMO the story goes slightly different. Apple was circling the drain, Mac-centric developers went "Oh, *****!" and developed Windows versions of their Apps. Steve went "Oh, *****" and started developing first party apps as a matter of necessity. It's not a coincidence that a rash of first party apps started appearing around the same time (99/00). iMovie, iTunes, iDVD and iPhoto all hit the streets around the same time and they were all free. FCP landed during the same time and while it was not free it was ridiculously cheaper than Avid's offerings.
Avid also flirted w/the idea of dropping the Mac entirely when the G4 started to stagnate (thanks Motorola), but Mac faithful editors dang near busted out the torches and pitch forks so Avid quickly backed peddled. The PC version of Avid did start to take priority though and it was only a couple of years ago that platform parity returned to Avid's products.

I'd rather pay and get upgrades than have the developer abandon the app because it isn't profitable to do anymore free updates. What should Loren do when everyone that will buy Tweetie already has it? Develop updates out of the goodness of his heart?
The app store has a problem, and that's the amount of crap and cheapness of that crap. It drives the price of everything down. Factor in that ALL upgrades are free and you have a major problem for devs. You can sell an app once to each user, at next to nothing cost, and that's all you get. Yes, initially it's good when you're selling 100K apps a week but what happens when everyone's bought your app? The app store has a sustainability problem, and it will soon rear it's ugly head.
Compare it to desktop software where even the most basic apps cost $10+ and all upgrades are paid.
I'm quite happy to pay Loren �1.79 every 8-12 months for his work on Tweetie because frankly it's amazing and �1.79 is pretty much nothing.

You only care about yourself and what you can get for yourself regardless if it's at the expense of others. You have no social responsibility. People's inability to look past their own nose and care about others is really quite pathetic. You don't care if Loren gets paid for his work, or for a sustainable app store. Rather you simply care for how cheaply you can get apps and updates. The self-centredness, the "me me me"-ness of society has become quite a problem IMO.

The idea of paying $50 more makes some have a hissy fit while MOST are right to complain about it in a normal, reasonable way.
AT&T is obviously more than legally able to do this but it is obvious to anyone that they are doing it strictly to add more $ to their pockets. And the response to that will be that they are allowed to and that EVERYONE wants more money. Yes, and consumers are allowed to complain when companies do something STRICTLY to make them pay more.
There is really no reason for AT&T to do this other than to make consumers pay more. When AT&T does this, they should expect a backlash

As a Buddhist, I believe that the mental state one has when they die provides the direction for their mind in their next life. Therefore, I support life in prison in order to give the convicted killer every opportunity to improve their mind and realize the error of their actions before they die. It's for both their benefit and the benefit of every being they encounter in their next life.

I've argued with Christians on a similar point. Shouldn't they allow the killers to have the rest of their natural lives to accept Jesus as their savior? And by executing them, we're saying to Jesus, "in your face! We decide, not you!"
As a Buddhist, I believe that the mental state one has when they die provides the direction for their mind in their next life.
