It seems that USCIS posted new versions of I765 dated (07/30/2007)N.
Looks like it is a required form and older versions are not accepted....!!!!!

Disgusting .... I hope that USCIS issues a statement and allows for people who have already submitted or ready to submit before Aug 17th to use old forms

I remember that last year your prediction about spill-over was almost close. What's your take this year.

I see 30 -40 k spill over this year but if my above post is true. DOS will not give any visas from spill to EB2 ROW or Eb1 once quarter is done. Otherwise spill over visas reduces as times passes and Eb2 Row and Eb1 gets more and more visas. I am waiting for DOL reports for past 2 months but they haven't post anything yet. That can clarify things lot.

You can give your OPT A# but once you're assigned a permanent visa number, they'll give you a different number. Your OPT A# is just a temporary number.
I think you mean once you are assigned a permanent A# ! It is assigned before a visa number is assigned.
A number series starting with 1 (eg. for OPT) are temporary. Those starting with 9 are permanent.
USCIS has a regular A# consolidation unit as well as a column to check for more than one A# on their internal worksheet for I-485.
Bottom-line: give your OPT A# and they will take care of the rest. This is what I did and worked.

I just wanted to bump this and get people's opinion on what paper work and other things we should be aware of by not changing the employers who sponsered our green card, but have applied for 485, have I-140 approved (180 days passed since I-140 approval and I-485 receipt dates) and received EAD/AP.
I guess lot of people are in this category. So far, the only advise I have seen is: Extend H1 instead of using EAD.

Hi ,
My wife's name was wrong in the EAD card we got recently , my attorney doesnt want to fix this , we called USCIS and they have asked to sent a new 765 along with old form having the name right ( jus to proove its not our fault ) and the EAD card . Should we send the supporting documents any similar experiences ??

I think for anyone to help you here, you need to provide more details. If all the facts in the letter that you pasted from USCIS is true, there seems to be very limited grounds for appeal.

Bill Gates testified in front of most of the important senators who wrote this bill. Even he could not make a difference. There is nothing in this bill he had asked for.
Not IV or Lobby group that IV has, can it really make a difference? There is as much as we can do and everything else becomes uncontrolable. Even IV core group are normal people like us but with connections more than us. But they have their own regular job to do as well.
So I guess we can only try calling the senators and hope they will change their mind and hope for the best. Expecting and/or trusting IV or Lobby group will really help would be sacrificial.
I am not questioning what IV does. The core group really does what is their in their hands and we should appreciate that.

This stinky ba%^#@rd speaks loud and confuses people a lot with out giving the clear picture of broken legal immigration and with out mentioning the pain of long waiting legal immigrants (Current system neglects and keeps honestly taxpaying and law abiding legal immigration based applicants , this jerk never mention the facts of the broken system, it's taking 15 yrs to get a green card for legal immigrant to become permanent resident which is unfair and keeps that individual and applicant family in the state of limbo). Thats a pretty tough spot to be in. You can try finding a H1B sponsor for yourself and transfer? How about looking for a H1B sponsor for your wife? I believe the H1B quota did not fill up this time.
